D-Locknut in locked position
HOW IT WORKS
The free-turning D-LOCKNUT is threaded onto a bolt. With a wrench, torque the slitted nut to your required force. By applying torque to the locking nut, the radial force compresses sections of the slitted nut, wedging its threads with the bolt threads. This deflection produces a strong 360 deg. mechanical connection and does not damage or mar the threads of the bolt. To remove the D-LOCKNUT, first loosen the locking nut approximately 3/4 of a turn and then loosen the slitted nut.
MATERIAL: Stainless steel 303
Turns freely to apply and remove
Will not damage bolt threads
Replaces nuts in existing assemblies
Can be applied against rotational components
D-locknut’s high locking force assures reliable fastening, protecting companies from loss of productivity and preventing injuries or damage to equipment. The locking nut has the asymmetric thread on the inside and screws onto the neck of the slotted nut. This assembly can then be easily screwed onto a standard bolt or threaded bars.
